Suffolk County Republicans chose Northport trustee Dave Weber on Friday to represent residents in the 12th Assembly District.
Assemblyman Keith Brown announced Friday morning that he would not run again after three terms, paving the way for Weber’s candidacy.
Weber has two years remaining on his Northport trustee term.
Republicans met in Medford to finalize their choices for a variety of nominees. Rep. NIck LaLota, who represents much of Huntington as congressman in the 1st District, was renominated. And Mike LiPetri was approved to run against US Rep Tom Suozzi, who also represents a part of Huntington in the 3rd District.
